2027: Group canvases continuity, says Tinubu’s reforms must be sustained
Young Nigerians across party lines, under the auspices of the Renewed Hope Agenda Continuity Marshals have called for sustained support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of 2027, insisting that ongoing economic and structural reforms must be consolidated through leadership continuity.
The youth-driven movement, led by National Coordinator Osawemwenhio Uwagboe, stated that Nigeria requires stability and consistent policy direction to fully realise the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
While leaders of the All Progressives Congress at all levels have endorsed President Tinubu for re-election, the move comes amid a polarised public landscape where some critics argue the administration has fallen short of expectations.
Reacting to these differing views, Uwagboe expressed strong confidence in the nation’s trajectory.
He said, “Today we stand here not just as members of one political party, but as young Nigerians from different backgrounds who believe Nigeria must move forward
“We are observing leadership, courage, and responsibility. Nigeria needs stability in leadership and the continuity of progressive reforms. That is why REHACMA was formed.”
Uwagboe emphasised that REHACMA is more than a campaign organisation, “It is a movement of responsible young Nigerians who believe governance should be supported when it moves the nation forward. Politics should not blind us to leadership that is working.”
The group further asserted that President Tinubu possesses the “experience, courage, and political capacity” required to guide the country through difficult long-term transformations.
Voices of the Movement REHACMA National Youth Leader Yusuf Ishaya, formerly of the ADC, noted that his shift to the APC was driven by visible results.
“He who sees progress should not sit by the side and wait to be told. You know progress when you see it. My advice to others is to align with President Tinubu because it is the best path for Nigeria,” Ishaya stated.
Similarly, REHACMA Women Leader Fatima Lamisula argued that four years is insufficient to rectify decades of systemic challenges.
She said, “The reward for good work is more work. Nigeria has been in troubled waters for a long time. Given the visible changes in the three years he has been in power, I believe we should give President Tinubu another term to finish what he started.”
Adding a regional perspective, North Central Coordinator Jerry Gwom highlighted the impact of specific policy shifts, such as the floating of the Naira and the removal of the fuel subsidy.
“Previously, we had ‘overnight billionaires’ with exclusive access to the Central Bank. Today, the market is open,” Gwom noted.
He also praised the administration’s inclusivity, “In the North Central, we have historically clamoured against marginalisation. In this government, as a youth, I feel carried along. We want this administration to continue because we are assured that after 2031, power will be handed over to our generation.”
