Youth in Ikirun under the auspices of Young Professionals Forum has appealed to the Osun state governor, Gboyega Oyetola to fast track the installation process of Yunus Olalekan Akadir as the Akinrun of Ikirunland.
The youth in a statement signed by its president, Sulaiman Kilani and secretary, Sunday Owolabi noted that the forum only supported the candidature of Akadir as the next traditional ruler of the town.
The Ikirun youths maintained that Akadir is the best choice for the town, stressing that he is going to bring his wealth of experience to the traditional stool in the community.
The youths however appealed to the state governor to yield to their calls by giving staff of office to Akadir as soon as possible.
The statement further reads, “he is exposed and we believe this young vibrant Akadir can become a king of Ikirun.
“He will take Ikirun to a greater height and he is going to use his wealth of experience in business world to develop the community.
“The governor should give us who we believe can bring development to Ikirun.”
Oba Yunus Olalekan Akadir, Oyewole II is the grandson of 11th Akinrun of Ikirunland Oba Adekilekun Akadiri Oyewole who reigned from 1887 to 1917.
His great grandfather is the 7th Akinrun of Ikirunland Oba Oyewole I. He was born on 14 February, 1975. Kabiyesi is an alumnus of Coker Memorial High School, Ikirun.
