Following news that hit the news mill, that the national chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, Abdullahi Adamu, had announce the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, as the consensus presidential candidate of APC, President Mohammadu Buhari, it was learnt has distanced himself from the announcement, saying he didn’t anoint any aspirant.
Adamu had claimed to have consulted with the president before making the announcement.
Buhari, it was learnt made this clear during the emergency meeting he had with the northern governors.
In the same vein, the northern governors are said to have accused Adamu of partisanship and ploy to sabotage the plan as agreed upon by all stake holders , as regards the presidential candidate of the party.
Meanwhile, the northern governors are said to be on their way to having a meeting with the National Working Committee of the party.
