Veteran actor Charles Olumo popularly known as Agbako, is in great mood as he has clocked 100 years of age.
The centenarian has since been at the receiving of well wishes and celebration from family, friends and colleagues in the movie industry who have taken to various mediums to rejoice with the actor. He marked the milestone birthday anniversary with church thanksgiving.
Charles Olumo began acting in 1953 at a church in Lagos. He acted for the first time in a friend’s church drama, The Apostolic Church in Mushin. He said after the play, people thought he was the head of the drama group then many churches started inviting him to train their drama groups and that was how the journey started for him.
He said he personally chose Agbako as a nickname, after being told by the director of a particular movie he was working on at that time to choose a nickname that would stick in people’s minds.
