EOOR socio- cultural group honours late Dr. Soleye, as Nigeria’s former Minister of Finance is buried

Members of the Egbe Omo Ogun rere, a socio-cultural group, under the leadership of Rt. Hon Titi Oseni, are currently part of digniteries in Abeokuta, in honoure of late Dr. Onalapo Olusegun Soleye, as the former Nigeria’s Minister of Finance, is being buried today. The late Dr. Soleye died in November, 2023, at the age of 90.

According to Egbe Omo Ogun Rere Publicity Secretary, Omooba Segun Adewale, frpa, “members of the Egbe Omo Ogun Rere owe the late Dr. Soleye this last honour for his tremedious services to Ogun State and Nigeria as a whole. The reason we have to be on ground to celebrate a man who lived a fruitfull and fufilled life.”

“Besides, the late Soleye was the father of one of us in Egbe Omo Ogun Rere, Hon. Eyitayo Soleye, a restauranteur, and owner of Calabar Kitchen at Ibara Housing Estate, Ibara. He happens to be a very wonderful and supportive member of the group. He deserved to be honoured at his father’s burial ceremony for the numerous contributions as an EOOR member.” Adewale said.

The Wake-keep service for the late Soleye, was held yesterday, Thursday March 7, 2024 at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, and is being followed up with a Funeral Service earlier on Friday March 8, 2024, at Owu Baptise Church. He will be buried at a private interment immediately after the service of songs.
