President Bola Tinubu will today (Tuesday), depart Lagos for Pretoria, South Africa, to attend the inauguration of President Cyril Ramaphosa.
The inauguration of President Ramaphosa follows his re-election as President for a second term.
Ramaphosa was reelected by lawmakers for a second term, hours after his party African National Congress sealed a deal with the Democratic Alliance (DA) to form a coalition.
Ramaphosa gathered 283 votes to defeat Julius Malema, leader of the far-left Economic Freedom Fighters who had 44 votes.
President Tinubu will return to Nigeria after the inauguration ceremony of Ramaphosa.
