EFCC recovers rifle, exotic cars as agency arrests 48 for internet fraud in Ogun

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has listed a pump action rifle among the items recovered from 48 suspected internet fraudsters arrested by its operatives in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.


The suspects were arrested by operatives of the Ibadan Zonal Directorate of EFCC, the spokesperson for the anti-graft agency, Dele Oyewale said in a statement on Friday.

According to the statement, the EFCC operatives went after the suspects following surveillance and credible intelligence that linked them to fraudulent internet activities.


Other items recovered from the suspects, according to the statement, are five high-end cars, a motorbike, several mobile phones, laptop computers and incriminating documents.

“They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded, the anti-graft agency said in a statement.
