Wike-backed PDP declares Sandy Onor consensus presidential candidate

The faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) loyal to Nyesom Wike, minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has declared Sandy Onor as its consensus presidential candidate for the 2027 elections.

Samuel Ortom, former governor of Benue and chairman of the party’s presidential primary collation committee, announced Onor as the faction’s flagbearer on Tuesday while presenting the results of the presidential primary in Abuja.

Ortom said Onor emerged as the candidate after consultations and voice votes conducted among party members across the states.

He noted that the committee consulted party members across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
