MESSAGE ON THE DAY OF THE AFRICAN CHILD 2026
(TUESDAY, JUNE 16, 2026).
On this Day of the African Child 2026, I join Nigerians and the rest of the continent in advocating for the rights and well-being of every African child under the theme: “Ensuring universal access to water, sanitation, and hygiene for every child in Africa.”
Access to clean water, proper sanitation, and good hygiene is essential for the well-being, health, dignity, education, and future of our children. Our children, regardless of their background, should have access to the basic amenities needed to grow, learn, and thrive.
I believe all hands must be on deck to build child-friendly communities, strengthen public health systems, and create safe, healthy environments where every child can thrive and reach their full potential.
