Speaking at the inauguration, Dr. Ajulo emphasised the importance of peaceful dialogue and cultural sensitivity in addressing the boundary conflict. “It is both an honour and a privilege to stand before you today as we inaugurate this committee. Our mandate is clear: to investigate the causes of this dispute, identify key issues, and ensure an amicable resolution that does not strain relationships between communities involved”. He said.
He expressed appreciation to Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for his confidence in the committee, describing the governor’s intervention as a testament to his commitment to peace, justice, and community development. “I deeply appreciate Governor Aiyedatiwa for the trust reposed in all of us to serve on this committee. We are aware that this dispute has lingered for far too long, causing division and discord. It is imperative that we not only address the current issues but also propose lasting solutions.” Dr. Ajulo said.
The committee includes legal and security experts, as well as other stakeholders, with a shared commitment to fairness and dialogue. The findings and recommendations of the committee will be submitted to the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olayide Adelami.
