The letter reads, “My conviction remains that our dear state deserves purposeful leadership, a stronger economy, greater opportunities for our youths and women, improved security, and a future in which every citizen can live with dignity and hope.

In a swift reaction, State NDC Chairman in Bauchi, Abdullahi Maigari Misau, said that the party was really shocked and surprised with his resignation especially the timing.

“We are not happy with his resignation particularly at the beginning of the electioneering campaign. We believe that as season administrator and a politician have personal reasons to leave but his exit won’t affect the chances of the party.”

“He has the right to stay or leave the party as an individual and we wish well but we hope and pray that his exit would turned to be a blessing to the party,” he said .

Responding on the fate of NDC governorship ambition in Bauchi, the chairman said, “We will discuss with our legal team to consult the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) legal team on his replacement since he was nominated alongside a running mate.”

He called on members and supporters of the NDC to remain calm and assured them that the party would continue to pursue both governorship position and all other elected positions in the forthcoming general elections.

Although Kashim did not disclose his next move, sources close him confided that he might likely join the All Progressive Congress (APC) within the week.
