The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar are both connected by their shared desperation to lead Nigeria and their abhorrent contempt for President Bola Tinubu’s amazing and laser-like dedication to Nigeria’s change.
According to the APC, their constant hunt for suitable party platforms to carry out their presidential bid only serves to highlight how conceited and self-serving their goals are.
Through its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the party was reacting to the recent visit by Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 election to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which have stoked rumours of a potential alliance or merger of their political parties.
According to the APC, Obi’s potential return to Atiku’s PDP, Atiku’s potential departure from PDP in favour of Obi’s Labour Party, or both men’s potential total departure from PDP and Labour in favour of Professor Pat Utomi’s mega party remains uncertain.
However, it said it would not come as a surprise to hear that Peter Obi is rejoining the PDP.
The APC added that Atiku’s track record as an experienced political nomad only dwarfs his reputation as a wayfarer in politics, saying nobody will be surprised to learn that Atiku has joined the Labour Party, as he will continue to live up to his well-established image as the nation’s most nomadic politician.
“Men without the staying power to build or fix their own parties, who flee at the slightest flicker of internal crisis cannot possibly be trusted by Nigerians to tackle serious and complex national political and economic challenges that confront our nation,” the statement read.
It added that President Bola Tinubu possesses the qualities of character, vision, tenacity, and doggedness to lead a revived Nigeria with steady growth and development, emphasizing that the administration has already broken through historical growth barriers and cleared the road for sustainable progress and development with its audacious economic policy reforms and major infrastructure adoption.
The APC implored Nigerians to continue their steadfast support of the Party and President Bola Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to building a more powerful, safe, and prosperous nation.
