The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released its report on the screening of governorship aspirants for the 2026 election in Ekiti State, giving Governor Biodun Oyebanji full clearance to contest the party’s primary.

The report, issued after the committee’s sitting at Amor Hotel, Katampe, Abuja, on September 23 and 24, stated that Oyebanji had “satisfied all constitutional and party requirements.”

However, a businessman, Kayode Ojo, was granted only provisional clearance. His case was referred to the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) following several petitions.

The committee faulted Ojo for failing to secure the mandatory five valid nominators per local government, warning the lapse could attract litigation.

Mrs Abimbola Olajumoke Olawumi was disqualified for failing to prove she is financially up-to-date with the party, contrary to Article 9(1) of the APC Constitution and Section 177(c) of the 1999 Constitution.

Another aspirant, Mrs Atinuke Oluremi Omolayo, scaled through the process after meeting all requirements.

The exercise included document checks, membership verification, vetting reports and petitions and was adjudged transparent by the party.
