Former Kogi gov, Yahaya Bello, weds fourth wife
Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has officially taken a fourth wife, Hiqma, in a private ceremony held in Abuja on Saturday.
The intimate wedding was attended by close family members and friends, marking a significant new chapter in the former governor’s personal life.
The marriage was confirmed by Bello’s third wife, Hafiza Yahaya Bello, in an Instagram post where she welcomed the new bride and expressed gratitude to God.
“Alhamdulillah, our family just got a little bigger and more loving! A warm welcome to our new family member, Mrs. Hiqma Yahaya Bello! May Allah bless our union and fill our home with love, peace, and Barakah. Amin,” she wrote.
Bello, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), served as Kogi State governor from 2016 to 2023.
He gained national prominence during his tenure as Nigeria’s youngest sitting governor at the time.
Before marrying Hiqma, Bello was already married to three women: Amina Oyiza Bello, Rashida Yahaya Bello, and Hafiza Bello.
The former governor, who holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Business Administration from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, has largely kept his family life away from the public eye.
The latest union adds to the growing household of the former governor, who remains a notable figure in Nigerian politics.
