Ighodalo’s campaign DG, Iduoriyekemwen, dumps PDP

Mr Matthew Iduoriyekemwen the Asue Ighodalo/ Osarodion Ogie Campaign Director-General in the Edo 2024 governorship election has joined the increasing number of members of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP who are dumping the party.

Iduoriyekemwens resigned his membership of PDP on Thursday, citing crisis at the national and state levels of the party.

He announced his resignation in a letter to the Chairman of PDP Ward 5, Ikpoba-Okha, on Thursday in Benin.

Iduoriyekemwens said his decision to dump the PDP was a painful one as the party has played a vital role in his political journey and personal development.

The letter reads:
“I am writing to formally resign my membership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ward 5, Ikpoba-Okha Local Governmears, Edo State.

“This is a painstaking decision for me, as the PDP has played a vital role in my political journey and personal development.

“For this, I remain deeply grateful and will always cherish the platform the party provided me.

“However, recent developments within the party both at the state and national levels have made it difficult for me to remain as a member of the party,” he said

Iduoriyekemwen stated that the values and principles that once defined the PDP, as laid down by its founding fathers, have been eroded.

He added that the happenings in the party no longer align with the vision they had for a truly democratic, all-inclusive, and people-oriented political party.

“In view of this, I have decided to resign my membership of the party to enable me to concentrate fully on my family and business engagements,” he added

According to him, this is not a decision made out of anger or haste, but one rooted in deep reflection and a sincere desire to preserve my personal values and integrity.

He thanked the party leadership and all members of ward five Ikpoba-Okha LG for their love and support over the years.

Iduoriyekemwen, however, wished the PDP well in her future endeavours.
