Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo Turns the Toast, Decorated with Honors
Notwithstanding the bends Nigeria as a nation is trying to negotiate, the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu sure has loads of stories to cheer about, and the cheering news is made possible through the hardworking spirit of the team assembled by the president. And at the risk of not sounding immodest, the minister for interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, as a shining light, has been a major and undisputed source of pride for President Bola Tinubu’s administration. His effectiveness is so palpable and undeniable that the opposition has found it so hard to be mischievous about his deliveries; rather, the youthful minister has continued to attract applause from different quarters. It is on record that Hon. Tunji-Ojo’s principal, the president, was so pleased with his work that he publicly acknowledged his flagship performance as well as recognized him as a shining light and pride of the present administration.

A few days ago, the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, decorated the minister of interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, an alumnus of the great learning institution, with an award of excellence. Setting up a decisive benchmark, Obafemi Awolowo University rolled out a flagship moment in its 49th convocation schedule—the conferment of the OAU Award of Excellence in Public Service, which the Honorable Minister for Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, considered worthy on account of his contributions to the national development and administrative reforms.
Also, the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) has named the current Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, its Man of the Year. The honor was done to the minister during a summit held by the association on Tuesday in Lagos. The summit was titled “The Right Man in Governance—Advancing Mr. President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.”
In his remark, the global president of TAMPAN, Dr. Bola Amusan, said mind-blowing developments have been recorded in the Ministry of Interior under the leadership of Hon. Tunji-Ojo.
He said significant reforms have been initiated and implemented with speed, efficiency, and transparency, adding that through technology-driven solutions, strategic restructuring, and firm oversight, the minister’s leadership has improved identity management systems, enhanced immigration and passport service delivery, and restored public confidence in processes that affect millions of Nigerians at home and abroad.
Meanwhile, the excellence-driven minister of interior is slated for another honor in the first quarter of 2026 in faraway United Kingdom, where he would be celebrated by the King’s College. The program is at the instance of Triangle Magazine, which will be celebrating its 10th anniversary with an award phase in the United Kingdom.
Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, will lead a high-powered delegation of Nigerian leaders to the United Kingdom for Triangle International Magazine’s 10th anniversary celebration and the Fourth FACE of Africa Leadership Awards.
The glittering event, hosted in partnership with King’s College London, promises to be a star-studded showcase of African excellence.
