Kogi: APC chieftain accuses Gov Ododo of anti-party
Some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Kogi State have alleged distrust against Governor Ahmed Ododo over his sympathy for African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for the House of Representatives for Yagba Federal Constituency.
They accused the governor of anti-party activities for allegedly working for the ADC in Kogi State.
They said the governor directed his political appointees in Mopamuro Local Government Area to engage in anti-party activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to Chief Dayo Michael Adesanya, an APC chieftain from Isanlu and other sources in the APC in the area, the Commissioner for Information, Kingsley Fanwo, on the alleged order of Ododo, instructed appointees to campaign in support of Rep. Leke Abejide, factional leader of the ADC, who is reportedly seeking a third term in the National Assembly (NASS).
Adesanya explained that the move runs contrary to the existing zoning arrangement in the Yagba Federal Constituency, which, they said, favours Mopamuro Local Government as the next to produce the federal lawmaker.
Adesanya told newsmen in Ilorin, Kwara State capital that the appointees were part of the political walk in support of Abejide, during which participants carried placards and wore caps and T-shirts of the governor and the lawmaker without any identifiable party logo.
According to Adesanya: “some APC faithfuls declined participation in the exercise, because of concerns over anti-party conduct.
“Could you now believe that all the political appointees that declined have been instructed to resign or get sacked?” He enthused.
He, however informed journalists that the walk for Abejide recorded minor incident, as some participants allegedly fell off moving vehicle and sustained injuries.
The APC chieftain hinted that the development is shrouded with speculations that Gov. Ododo and his predecessor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, are considering a possible defection to the ADC because of the rumours that Hon. James Faleke may contest the governorship on the platform of the ruling APC, the development said to be creating tension within the APC in Kogi.
Adesanya and his entourage wondered why Abejide, a supposed staunch member of the ADC and is yet to officially defect to the APC.
