In a major crackdown, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a Lekki-based businessman, Arokodare Damil Ebenezer, the owner of Damillionz Takeout, over the illegal shipment of 60 parcels of Loud—a potent strain of cannabis—smuggled from the United States to Nigeria.

Ebenezer, 43, was apprehended at Bay Lounge on Admiralty Way, Lekki, on Monday, March 24, 2025, just as he prepared to receive his latest consignment of drugs.

A statement issued by NDLEA’s spokesman, Femi Babafemi on Sunday, said his arrest followed the interception of seven massive cartons of cannabis at a logistics company in Lagos on March 12.

He said a subsequent search of his residence uncovered 94 grams of the same psychoactive substance, a cannabis crusher, and other drug paraphernalia, bringing the total haul to 32.24 kilograms.

Shockingly, Babafemi disclosed that Ebenezer confessed to running his illicit drug trade since 2017.

The statement reveals a separate sting operation by NDLEA officers at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, which foiled an attempt by Italy-based businessman Omoruyi Terry to smuggle 1,400 pills of Tramadol 225mg—weighing 800 grams—to Italy.

The suspect, a known logistics agent and frequent traveler, was intercepted at Terminal 2 while boarding a Qatar Airways flight.

Meanwhile, NDLEA operatives continued their war against drug cartels, destroying 13,198 kilograms of skunk hidden in Edo forests and dismantling a drug repackaging factory in a Katsina village. Officers also seized 86,000 opioid pills and arrested four suspects linked to the syndicate.

NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd), commended his personnel for their relentless efforts, assuring Nigerians that the agency remains steadfast in its mission to rid the country of drug traffickers.Nigerian online marketplacesNigerian online marketplaces
