Onfo: Okada riders declare support for Tinubu’s re-election bid
More than 2,000 commercial motorcycle operators across the 18 local government areas of Ondo State on Tuesday declared support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.
The operators, under the Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), said they were ready to mobilise support to ensure a landslide victory for the President in the state.
Speaking during the endorsement at the office of the Asiwaju Mandate Group in Akure, the state chairman of ACOMORAN, Mr Akinlolu Olumonrin, said the decision followed a detailed assessment of Tinubu’s performance.
He said members of the association were convinced that the President remained the most suitable candidate to sustain ongoing developmental programmes and policies across the country.
He said, “We have looked into everything he has done in Nigeria and discovered he is the only person who can continue the job so that the programme will not stop.
”We tried a lot to make ACOMORAN visible in Ondo State; we wrote many letters and even sued the government, but we did not achieve anything. We discovered that if we go through the President, then it may come to reality, that is why we decided to fully support Tinubu for the second time in Nigeria.”
Olumonrin urged members of the association to remain law-abiding and disciplined in order to maintain public trust and protect their reputation.
He also appealed to the Federal Government to address the rising cost of fuel and the prevailing economic hardship, noting that transport operators were among the most affected.
”We believe there is hope and that things will improve very soon, but we want the President to help find solutions to the hike in prices,” he urged.
In his remarks, the Director-General of the Asiwaju Mandate Group, Olumuyiwa Asagunla, said the endorsement would strengthen the chances of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Ondo State ahead of the next general election.
