First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has called on Nigerians to embrace neurodiversity and promote inclusion, emphasizing the need to create a society where individuals with autism and other neurodivergent conditions can thrive.
In her message on Wednesday marking World Autism Awareness Day 2025, the First Lady highlighted the importance of ensuring equal access to education, healthcare, and employment for individuals on the autism spectrum.
She stressed that supporting neurodiverse individuals aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those focused on quality education (SDG 4) and economic opportunities for all (SDG 8).
“Neurodiversity is a beautiful testament to human uniqueness. We must work together to eliminate discrimination and ensure an inclusive society,” she stated.
Senator Tinubu urged all Nigerians to advocate for acceptance, recognizing the talents and contributions of people with autism.
