Tinubu Felicitates Interior Minister Tunji-Ojo On Birthday

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on the occasion of his birthday celebrated on May 1, 2026.
In a statement issued Friday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the president described Tunji-Ojo as “a public servant whose years in office have been defined by focus, discipline, and a clear sense of responsibility to the Nigerian people.”
Tinubu commended the minister’s role in advancing reforms within the Ministry of Interior, noting that he has approached his duties “with urgency and a firm commitment to improving institutional processes, strengthening inter-agency coordination, and ensuring that government services are delivered with greater efficiency and accountability.”
The president also highlighted ongoing efforts to modernise key operations, including immigration services, correctional administration, and border management systems. He said these reforms are “central to the administration’s broader objective of building a secure, orderly, and well-regulated internal environment that supports national development.”

According to Tinubu, “sustained reform within the Ministry is critical not only to improving service delivery but also to restoring public trust in government institutions,” adding that “confidence in systems is built through consistency, transparency, and results.”
He further praised Tunji-Ojo’s loyalty and alignment with the administration’s agenda, stating that his contributions “continue to support the administration’s drive to deliver tangible outcomes for Nigerians.”
The president also prayed for the minister, asking God to grant him “many more years in good health, strength, and continued service to the nation.”
