Tinubu’s security reforms will soon yield big results – Tunji- Ojo

The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has restated his confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s capacity to confront Nigeria’s security crisis and steer the nation towards greater stability.

The minister, whose message was delivered through his political support group, BTO4BAT, said the President has shown unwavering commitment by prioritising modern security technology, intelligence-driven operations, and stronger cooperation among security agencies.

Tunji-Ojo’s remarks were conveyed on Sunday at the inauguration of ward coordinators responsible for driving grassroots engagement for the President. He maintained that although the nation’s security challenges are complex, the reforms introduced by President Tinubu would soon begin to produce measurable improvements.

Represented at the event by the Director-General of BTO4BAT, Mr Adesuyi Adojutelegan, the minister highlighted several reforms within the internal security sector — including improved border control systems, better welfare for security operatives, and the introduction of advanced surveillance tools. According to him, these initiatives demonstrate the administration’s seriousness in tackling kidnapping, banditry, and other violent crimes.

“The President has recorded notable achievements across various sectors and remains determined to confront the country’s security issues head-on,” he said.

He further underscored the need for a united effort to combat criminality, particularly the rising number of schoolchildren targeted by armed kidnappers.

Explaining the essence of the newly inaugurated ward coordinators, Tunji-Ojo said the structure would galvanise community-level support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 polls.

He added that the government’s ongoing economic reforms, though challenging, would strengthen voter confidence and translate into electoral support.

“So, the coordinators must step up their engagement and mobilise at the grassroots for President Tinubu’s re-election across all wards,” he said.

A prominent APC figure in Ondo State, Fafumilade Adetilewa, also addressed the gathering, assuring citizens that the government would triumph over insecurity. He urged Nigerians to support the President’s reform agenda and back him for a second term.

“We will defeat insecurity. I am confident of that. The President has performed impressively and deserves continuity beyond 2027,” he said.

The APC Chairman in Akoko North-West Local Government Area, Kehinde Obanla, called on party members to unite behind the President, insisting that the results of Tunji-Ojo’s stewardship should reflect at the ballot box.

One of the newly inaugurated coordinators, Suleiman Muyideen, pledged unwavering commitment to ground-level mobilisation, saying the minister’s popularity in the constituency would greatly enhance the campaign for President Tinubu’s second term.
