All that went down at Regard Confidential Hotel in Alimosho area of Lagos metropolis will linger in the mind of those who were privileged to be in attendance, when city big boy, Prince Tope Adeniyi Ayibiowu played host to members of All Progress Congress, APC, who emerged victorious at the recently concluded general elections and by extension, members of the party as well as well wishers.
The event was not just about making merry but it served as an avenue for issues to be discussed and where the attendees had the opportunity to network and meet new people. The victory party cum award night at the instance of Alimosho based group, Ibigiga, a handful of members of the party who are deemed worthy of honor for their contributions were also decorated with awards of various categories. The awardees include Hon. Jelili, Airat Alamu Mojirade, Abdulahi Enilolobo, Senator Olamilekan Solomon and Abiodun Ajibadero. Others are Idris Balogun, Akinsanya Koleade.
Lagos based Ekiti Prince who bankrolled the event, Adeniyi, while speaking to journalists said he believed there was need for the event as a way to chart a common course after the election. ‘When the idea of this victory party was communicated to me by Ibigiga Group, I embraced it and decided to give it all the support because I agreed there was a need for it. As you have all seen, the event has afforded us the opportunity to agree on a common direction just as we have also been able encourage some of our people to continue their good work by decorating them with various awards’.
Speaking further, he extolled virtues of the national leader of APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, saying he deserves accolade for his consistency at staying on the side of the people and playing a very big role in returning President Mohammadu Buhari to power for another term. Also, he commended the out-going governor of Lagos state, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for the great work he has done in the state as he said Ambode has successfully written his name in gold as far as Lagos state is concerned. In the same breath, he congratulated Lagos state governor-elect, Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his victory at the polls. He however advised him not to let down Lagosians who entrust their lives to him by casting their votes for him and deputy in large numbers. He also admonished him not to underrate the party structure because it’s the party that worked tirelessly to ensure his victory.
