Your appearance should embody dignity of the law, Ajulo counsels lawyers
Dr. Kayode Ajulo, the Attorney General of Ondo State, who doubles as chairman of the NBA mentorship committee, has called the attention of lawyers to the need to pay attention to their appearance, as he says it has a lot to do with the practice of law in which they are engaged.
In a piece titled WIGS-ATOP-WIGS BRINGS RIDICULE, Ajulo gives advice on how a lawyer should appear and why they should stay away from improper dressing.
Below is the piece as made available to JustNews.

“Attention to detail is paramount in our profession. As barristers, your appearance should reflect the dignity and seriousness of the law. It is disheartening to see the trend of wearing a barrister’s wig atop fashion wigs or additional hair extensions. This practice not only undermines the professionalism we strive for but also invites ridicule.
The barrister’s wig symbolises our commitment to justice and the legal system. When layered with other wigs, it becomes a comedic spectacle, detracting from the respect we seek to command in and out of the courtroom. Such mismatched attire does not exemplify the integrity we uphold; instead, it risks trivialising our role as defenders of the law.
As legal practitioners, we must dress with intention. Your attire should serve as a testament to your dedication, professionalism, and respect for the craft. Let us commit to presenting ourselves in a manner that honours our profession and the responsibilities it entails.”
