Ogun APC youths plan 5,000-man walk to support Abiodun

The Director of Media and Publicity for the All Progressives Congress Youth League in Ogun State, Olamide David, has said in a show of solidarity and support for Governor Dapo Abiodun, the group is organising a 5,000-person solidarity march.

The event, scheduled for October in Abeokuta, aims to commend the governor’s administration and his commitment to the state’s socio-economic development.

David, in a statement on Thursday, also commended Abiodun for his commitment to placing the state on a strong socio-economic footing since assuming office over six years ago.

He explained, “There is no denying the obvious facts that Governor Dapo Abiodun has brought tremendous progress to the development of the state in the last six years.

“The governor is doing so much in terms of infrastructural upgrade, our roads are receiving due attention, and there has been massive investment in the rehabilitation of both primary and secondary schools.

“The governor has equally done well in the area of job creation and youth empowerment. Just last week, the federal government gave the final approval for the state’s Gateway International Airport to begin commercial flights.

“The state’s security architecture, too, has been strengthened. It has really been a youth-friendly administration, and the least we could do is to drum further support for our hardworking governor to do so much more for the people of the state”.

David highlighted some of the contributions of the APC Youth League, including strengthening political participation among young people, explaining that the group has been actively involved in mobilising youths across the state, encouraging them to play constructive roles in politics and governance.

He explained that the league has also promoted communication between the government and citizens while supporting developmental initiatives that touch on the welfare of the people.

He noted that the group is committed to ensuring that the youth remain an active voice in political decision-making.

Speaking on the walk for the governor, which is fixed for October, David urged young people in the state to come out in large numbers and show their love and support for the governor.

The initiative, according to him, will serve as a platform to sensitise the public about government policies, unite party members, and promote political awareness among the youth.

He stressed that the exercise would not only show solidarity with the governor but also demonstrate the readiness of the youth to contribute meaningfully to the progress of the state.
