Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Southeast have vowed to solidify the party’s dominance in the region ahead of the 2027 general elections, urging more Igbo indigenes to join for the benefit of the zone.

Speaking after the APC southeast select leaders’ consultative meeting in Enugu, key party figures emphasised the importance of integrating Ndigbo into the mainstream of national politics rather than remaining on the sidelines.

Among the prominent attendees were Imo State Governor and APC Governors’ Forum Chairman, Senator Hope Uzodimma; Ebonyi State Governor, Rt. Hon. Francis Nwifuru, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chief Benjamin Kalu, former Senate President, Anyim Pius Anyim, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, Minister for Innovation, Science and Technology, Chief Uche Nnaji, and other top party executives.

Governor Uzodimma, speaking on behalf of the leaders, outlined the objective of the meeting—to mobilize more Southeast residents into the ruling party.

He highlighted that joining APC would position the region closer to the corridors of power, citing how governors from other geopolitical zones have aligned themselves with the party.

Uzodimma expressed optimism about the party’s growing influence in the region, underscoring the need for unity, teamwork, and tolerance to achieve lasting political success.
