The National coordinator of Oodua People’s Congress, OPC, who doubles as the founder of Oodua Progressive Union, OPU, an international socio cultural organization promoting Yoruba culture in the diaspora, Otunba Gani Adams has been named the 15th Aare Ona Kakanfo, (Generalissimo of Yoruba land).
The confirmation was announced by of Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi in Oyo on Sunday.
Alaafin said the position of Aare Ona Kakanfo is not a political appointment but a position given to people who are consistent in defending and promoting Yoruba land.
Otunba Gani Adams, the chief promoter of Olokun festival foundation has bagged over fifty chieftaincy titles.
