All for Ewusi of Makun as He Clocks 75

The process which led Oba Timothy Oyesola Akinsanya to ascend the throne of his fore fathers upon the demise of former Ewusi of Makun, Sagamu in Ogun State, was not an easy one. Eleven years down the line, it is evident people of Makun are indeed happy Oba Oyesola is in charge as the Ewusi of Makun.

It was a double celebration in Makun few days ago when an annual festival of the community, ‘Obaruwa’ coincided with the diamond jubilee anniversary of the monarch, Oba Akinsanya. The celebration which had kicked off days earlier climaxed on 28th February, when car and cash prizes were given to winners of cultural competition.

On the other hand, in honour of the traditional ruler who was celebrating his 75th birthday, an interdenominational service was held in his honour at the palace after which the reception followed. The fun filled royal event had lots of dignitaries, royal fathers and guests who jetted in from overseas. Ogun State based top gospel singer, King Solomon supplied music at the event.

Oba Oyesola, graduate of Marketing from Woolish University, United Kingdom, returned to work in Nigeria for ten years after which he returned to United Kingdom in 1987. He however relocated back home permanently about eleven years ago when he ascended the throne of his fore fathers to become Ewusi Ti Makun Sagamu.
