APC drops Fani-Kayode as it  reorganizes convention committees

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) has restructured the composition of its March 26 National Convention committee and sub-committees.

The membership of the committees had been pruned down to a handful of members.

Former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode was dropped from the Media Committee where he was initially pencilled down for Deputy Chairmanship.

The Media Committee earlier chaired by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu now has Governor Abdullahi A. Sule of Nasarawa as Chairman with Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information, as Co-Chair. Presidential spokesman, Malam Garba Shehu is the Secretary.

All members of the CECPC are part of the Central Coordinating Committee.

The Screening Committee which initially had Governor Abdulrasaq Abdulrahman of Kwara is now being chaired by Governor Aminu Bello Masari with former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole, as the Deputy Chairman. Barr. Emmanuel Chukwuemeka is the Secretary and Fatima Zarah Umar Danejo is Asst. Secretary. Masari was initially appointed as head of the Election/Planning Committee.

Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo is the Chairman, Screening Appeal Committee while Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara is the Co-Chair. Sir Joseph Ari replaces Dr. Danjuma Adamu Dabo as the Secretary. The former 88-man committee now has four people.

Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar is Chairman of the Election Committee while Governor Rotimi Akeredolu is the Co-Chair. Former NPA Managing Director, Hadiza Bala Usman, is Secretary. Badaru was earlier appointed chairman of the Finance Committee.

The Election Appeal Committee is headed by Governor Dapo Abiodun with

Hon. Usman Mohammed as Co-Chair and Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiba as Secretary.

The Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN) still chairs the Legal Committee with Senator Ndoma Egba (SAN) as Co-Chair and Minister of State for Environment, Barr. Sharon Ikeazor as Secretary.

Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle, is Chairman of the Accommodation Committee with Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen, as Co-Chair and Salamatu Bawa as Secretary.

Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau now chairs the Venue/Decoration/Site Servicing Committee with Minister of FCT, Muhammad Musa Bello as Co-Chair and Sen. Domingo Obende as Secretary.

The Transportation/Logistics Committee earlier chaired by Governor Lalong now has Governor Dave Umahi as Chairman with Otunba Gbenga Daniel as Co-Chair. Former DG of NIMASA, Hon. Dakuku Peterside is the Secretary. Lalong and Umahi swap positions.

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi chairs the Security/Protocol Committee with Gen. Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau (rtd) as Co-Chair and Sen. Stella Oduah as Secretary.

Governor Nasiru El-Rufa’i now chairs the Accreditation Committee with Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, as Co-Chair and Alh. Tijjani Tumsah as Secretary. Omo-Agege initially chaired the committee.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe has replaced Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase as Chairman of the Entertainment/Welfare Committee. Minister of State for FCT, Hon. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu is Co-Chair while Sen. Joy Emodi is Secretary.

The Medical Committee earlier chaired by Cross River Governor, Prof. Ben Ayade, is now being headed by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige with former Minister of Health, Prof. Issac Adewole as Co-Chair and Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire as Secretary.

Governor Sanwo-Olu is Chairman of the Finance Committee with Governor Atiku Bagudu as Co-Chair. Minister of State for National Planning, Prince Clem Agba, is Secretary.

The Accreditation of Volunteers/Diplomats/Diaspora/Observers Committee is being chaired by Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase with Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama as Co-Chair and Abike Dabiri-Erewa as Secretary.

The Budget Committee is headed by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara and Minister of Finance, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed as Co-Chair with Sir Barr. Ibanga Akpabio as Secretary.

Governor Umar Ganduje of Kano is the Chairman of Protocol Committee with Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio as Co-Chair and Minister of Sttae for Health, Sen. Olorunnimbe Mamora as Secretary.

The Digital Communication Committee is being chaired by Cross River Governor, Prof. Ben Ayade with NCC Board Chairman, Prof. Adeolu Akande as Co-Chair and Dr. Kashifu Inuwa as Secretary.

Governor of Borno State, Prof. Umaru Zulum, chairs the Pre-Convention Conferences Committee with Governor Kayode Fayemi as Co-Chair. Dr. Garba Abari is the Secretary.

The Progress Report Committee is chaired by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, with Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, as Co-Chairman and Dr. Ikechi Nwoga as Secretary.

The Rapporteurs Committee is chaired by Rt. Hon. Fini Angaye and Baffa Sale Hadejia is Co-Chair.
