The Chairman, Unique Gentlemen’s Club, Lagos, Chief Tony Ojo, has congratulated Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for winning the party’s presidential primary election with a landslide.

Tinubu clinched the party’s ticket after polling 1,271 votes to beat Nigeria’s Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, who scored 235, President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, who had 152 votes, and Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, who had 316 votes in the election which had some aspirants including Governor Kayode Fayemi, Governor Abubakar Badaru, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, Prof. Ajayi Boroffice, former Speaker Dimeji Bankole and others stepping down for the former governor of Lagos.

Chief Ojo, who is also an APC chieftain in Edo State, described Tinubu’s victory as a well deserved honour for a man who has sacrificed everything for Nigeria’s democracy and unity.

“Asiwaju’s track records, both in the private and public sectors are a confirmation that he’s the best man to rescue Nigeria at this critical moment. I hereby urge all Nigerians both home and abroad to eschew tribal or religious sentiments and support the best man to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari come 2023.

“Tinubu is a detribalized Nigerian, whose penchant for economic development, justice, human and capacity building is second to none. As a matter of fact, our democracy cannot be where it is today without his pragmatic leadership and contributions.

“On behalf of the entire staff and management of Unique Gentlemen’s Club, I congratulate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and promise him our unflinching support till he leads us to the promised land,” Chief Ojo said in a statement.
