Billionaire business icon Oskar Ibru dies at 67

Nigerian billionaire industrialist and chairman of the Ibru Organisation, Olorogun Oskar Ibru, has died at the age of 67.

His passing was confirmed by the Ibru family in a statement on Wednesday, as reported by Arise News. He was said to have died following a brief illness. Additional details surrounding his death have not been made public.

Oskar Ibru was a prominent figure in Nigeria’s corporate sector and a leading member of the renowned Ibru family, widely regarded as one of the country’s most influential business dynasties. As the eldest son of the late Olorogun Michael Ibru, he played a pivotal role in consolidating and expanding the business empire established by his father, who passed away in 2016.

The Ibru Organisation, founded in the mid-20th century by Michael Ibru, operates across a broad range of industries, including shipping, oil and gas, real estate, and general commerce. Under Oskar Ibru’s leadership, the group maintained its strategic importance in Nigeria’s economic landscape.

Tributes have continued to pour in from across the country, with many describing Oskar Ibru as a visionary leader and a consummate gentleman.
