Borno: Troops arrest three suspected terrorist collaborators
Troops under Operation Hadin Kai have apprehended three individuals suspected of aiding Boko Haram/ISWAP insurgents in Borno State.
According to security sources, the arrests were carried out on April 13 in the Abari general area of Monguno Local Government Area.
The operation was executed by personnel of the Sector 3 Military Intelligence Brigade in collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).
The suspects were identified as Falmata Abukar (43), Halima Audu (35), and Mairo Abba (17).
They were reportedly intercepted while attempting to travel from Abari to Mararaba village in Kukawa Local Government Area.
Items recovered from the suspects include 12 pairs of materials believed to be used for terrorist uniforms, 176 bottles of herbicide, 22 wrappers, 24 assorted children’s clothes, a mosquito net, a mat, and a cash sum of ₦15,500.
Security sources indicated that the recovered items are suspected to be logistical supplies intended for insurgent groups operating within the Lake Chad region.
The suspects are currently in military custody, where they are undergoing preliminary interrogation to establish the extent of their involvement and any possible links to terrorist networks.
