Three persons reportedly sustained injuries on Wednesday, when operatives of Western Nigeria Security Network (WNSN), codenamed Amotekun engaged in a fight with men of the Nigerian Immigration Service.

It was gathered that the clash happened in front of the Amotekun command office, located at the Osun Government House Annex, Oke-Fia, Osogbo.

Operatives of the two agencies were said to have shot sporadically into the air, forcing traders, shop owners, passers-by and residents of the area to scamper for safety.

According to a source, two Amotekun officers and a security operative sustained injuries and were taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.

Though, the cause of the clash was still sketchy, our Correspondent gathered that an Immigration Officer and one of the senior officers of the Amotekun Corps had a misunderstanding around the popular Olaiya roundabout.

“The Amotekun officer didn’t know the man is an Immigration Officer because he was in mufti. They initially had misunderstanding somewhere around Olaiya Bridge and after a hot arguement, the Amotekun officer drove off and proceeded to their command office at Oke- Fia.

“But, the Immigration Officer trailed him on a bike to the Oke-Fia office. His action got the other Amotekun officers  who were on ground infuriated and got him arrested.

“It was when his colleagues reinforced to the scene that they later discovered that the man in their custody is an officer. It was a serious matter,” a source said.

It was, however, gathered that the leadership of the two agencies held a meeting with the Commissioner of Police in the state, Kehinde Longe,  to resolve the matter.
