- Debate FCT road projects on TV, Wike dares critics
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has challenged anyone disputing his administration’s claim of constructing 317 kilometres of roads across satellite towns in the territory to appear on national television within 24 hours to prove otherwise.
Wike issued the challenge while commissioning the Bazango Road, popularly known as Arab Road, in Kubwa, saying his administration’s records on road construction were verifiable and open to public scrutiny.
He maintained that the road projects were part of the FCT Administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure, enhancing connectivity and opening up communities for economic and social development.
Representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the commissioning, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, said the projects reflected the administration’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda.’
According to him, the road infrastructure is aimed at improving connectivity, strengthening security, reducing traffic congestion, particularly along the Kubwa axis, and improving the quality of lives of residents.
He added that the projects demonstrate the federal government’s commitment to delivering infrastructures that meet the needs of residents across the Federal Capital Territory.
