Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation, was yesterday, Tuesday arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in Lagos.

EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed the development to PM News.

He confirmed that the former minister, who rejoined the All Progressives Congress in September, was brought to the Lagos Zonal Office of the anti-graft agency on Tuesday.

He said Fani-Kayode was arrested for forgery and manipulation of documents.

Uwujaren said: “Yes it’s true. It has to do with forgery.”

He, however, didn’t give further details on the matter.

In the later hours of the day however, Fani Kayode posted his arrival at an hotel for dinner. He added he was not arrested but invited by the anti-graft agency and he flew down to their Lagos office to honor them. He admitted he was there for some hours but was granted bail on self recognition.
