An aspirant aiming to represent  the All Progressives Congress, APC,  in the race for Oyo Central Senatorial District, in the 2023 general elections, Abisoye Fagade, has petitioned the Oyo State APC Senatorial Primary Election Appeal Committee over the failure to conduct the primary election in  Oyo Central Senatorial District, on May 28 in accordance with extant laws, thereby requesting urgent attention to address the anomaly.

In a 3-page petition made available to JustNews, Fagade, through his solicitor, Owoeye, lamented the irregularities that marred a process that was meant  to be a free and fair, in picking All Progressives Congress candidate for Oyo Central Senatorial District towards 2023 election.

Complains were also made about how the committee saddled with responsibility of free, fair and acceptable primary election failed to live up to the expectation, as well as how list of delegates that were meant to vote was kept away from the aspirants, party leaders and prospective delegates from across the 11 wards that constitute Oyo Central Senatorial District, among other holes that characterized the election.

In the view of the fact that the time frame set by the  Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for all party primaries is fast approaching, Fagade, in conclusion urges the panel to urgently look into the matter with a view to calling the attention of the appropriate organ of the party  at the center to the ugly scenario, and offer advice on the need for a free, fair and acceptable primary election for the seven aspirants so the party will not miss the opportunity to present a candidate in 2023 general elections.

Fagade, the man behind popular and commendable initiative, Oyo Si Maa Dun, OSMD, announced his withdrawal  from the primary on May 28, citing irregularities that marred the process.
