As things stand, names of top players in nollywood, the yoruba arm especially will not be complete without mentioning Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham. The two have over the years proven to be masters of their game.
Unfortunately, Funke, 44 and Toyin 39 are believed not to be in good terms. Speculations have been riffled that the popular thespians are not in the good book of each other and many in the public are running with the impression.
Following a recent row connected to them by proxy, Toyin has come out to clear the air about her speculated rift with Funke.
In a virtual interview with the mother of one, Toyin said she doesn’t not have any problem with Funke.
“She’s my senior colleague and I have so much respect for her. She’s one of the few I look up to. Sometimes people don’t understand we are not family, we are colleagues and you can’t be talking to all of your colleagues. We follow each other. If I see her , I will knee down and say, Aunty Funke, s’e wa okay? But a lot of people don’t understand that as much as we are working in an industry, you don’t have to be my friend. When I don’t see her she could say, Toyin, o ri mi ni? And I would go like, good afternoon ma. So forget social media, trust me” she said.
