Gov. Abiodun commiserates Ota Muslim Community over demise of Chief Imam

Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has condoled the Muslim Community in Ota, in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, over the passing of their Chief Imam, Sheik Muhammed Sodiq Buhari Aladi.

The religious leader died on Sunday, at the age of 95.

The Governor, in a condolence letter sent to the family of the late Imam described the deceased as a man of high integrity and immeasurable wisdom, whose death has left a great vacuum that will be difficult to fill.

He said the Muslim Community in Ota had in the late Imam a very dependable religious leader who held the doctrine and tenet of Islam in high esteem, adding that his eventful life would continue to inspire adherents in the community and beyond.

The letter read: “I received the news of the transition of the Chief Imam of Ota, Sheik Imam Muhammed Sodiq Buhari Aladi, which occurred on Sunday, 16th June, 2024, at the age of 95. On behalf of my family, the government and the good people of Ogun State, I convey our deepest condolences to the entire Aina-Aladi family and the Ota Muslim Community over this irreplaceable loss.

“No doubt, the passing of the Chief Imam is a loss of immeasurable proportion that transcends many boundaries , leaving a great vacuum that will be difficult to fill. The Aina-Aladi family has been deprived of a caring Patriach and a great scion. Being a man of extraordinary integrity, Ota Muslim community had in him a very dependable religious leader.

“It is my prayer that Almighty Allah(swt) will comfort the family and give them the strength and fortitude to bear the vacuum created by this loss. May Almighty Allah(swt) grant the departed soul Aljanah Fridaus.

“Once again, please accept our heartfelt condolences and the assurances of my highest regards as always”.
