1892

Popular Apala musician and the son of the Late Alhaji Haruna Ishola ,Musiliu Haruna Babatunde Haruna Ishola has debunked the story making the rounds that he has quitted music.

Speaking in a chat recently,Musiliu said that  people misconstrue  not releasing new albums to quiting  music   ‘ I’m still in music and I have no other job except music.’

He said the situation in the country is not encouraging and not conducive for musicians to release an album ,’during the time of our dad there were  little or no pirates ,but now pirates have eaten deep into the music industry coupled with downloads among other things.”.

The Apala President added that ‘Soyoyo’ sold almost 20 million while ‘Authentic’ clocked 15 million, but currently hardly can an album  sell up to 20,000 copies.

The last straw that broke the Camel’s back according to the leading light in Apala music is COVID 19 ,which  did not favour the entertainment industry at all.

Musiliu Haruna Ishola who is currently working in the studio on a new album said ,Apala music can never go into extinction, rather it’s waxing stronger by day because it is the music of the future.
