Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola on Thursday said that the current development stride going on in the state would be doubled if he is re-elected for the second term.

Oyetola stated this during his visit to the Ooni Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja 11 at the start of his second term campaign

He explained that he may not have the opportunity to buy aircraft for Ooni, but he has good intentions to serve the state.

He stated further that it may not be possible for him to distribute dollars, euros or pounds to citizens because of voting, but he will not disappoint the people of the state if they re-elect him.

It will be recalled that the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ademola Adeleke, had once said that he would provide jet for Ooni Ogunwusi.

Adeleke also said recently that he has come to spend hard currency for the people of the state.

The governor said: “I am happy to be here today. We are all children of Ile-Ife because Ile-Ife is the cradle of Yoruba. I came here during the primary election of my party that you pray for me and the prayer was very effective.

“That is why we have decided to launch this campaign in Ile-Ife. We never play with Ile-Ife especially when we have Senator Iyiola Omisore; we know for sure Ile-Ife is for us.

Responding, the Ooni thanked Oyetola for launching his campaign in Ife and urged him to discourage violence during his campaigns.

Ooni said: “We do not want violence in the city. It is God that put people in position. Trust God and your head, not man, and your prayers will be answered.”
