The minister for interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo writes:
I attended the inauguration of the Executive members of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja today.
This new regime will be led by the new President Comrade Akinteye Babtee Babatunde, popularly known as BabTee.
While commending the peaceful transition, it is important to acknowledge the unprecedented achievements of this administration in stabilising Nigeria’s education sector and eliminating the era of prolonged strikes that once destroyed academic calendars.
Notably, under his administration, there have been no prolonged ASUU strikes, a feat that has restored predictability and hope to the academic calendar of Nigerian students.
I am confident that this new NANS leadership will uphold the ideals of Aluta Continua and advance the course of Nigerian students, both home and in the diaspora.
