Lagos State government on Wednesday announced the splitting of the Ministry of Education into two.
It also renamed the Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs to the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs, and Rural Development.
This was according to a circular from the office of the Head of Service (HOS), Hakeem Muri-Okunola.
In the circular, addressed to Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs), Muri-Okunola, said that the office of Special Adviser on Education has been upgraded to the Ministry of Tertiary Education, while the mother ministry has been designated as the Ministry of Basic Education.
Also, the office of Civic Engagement has been divided into the Office of Civic Engagement and the Political and Legislative Bureau.
This is just as the Central Internal Audit Department has been upgraded to the Office of Internal Audit.
