The Lagos state government has commenced the construction of Old Ojo Road situated in Oriade LCDA within the Amuwo Odofin local government area, transforming it into a dual carriageway.

The Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Lagos Governor, Jubril Gawat, made this known in a post on his X handle on Monday, March 25.

Part of the post read: “Old Ojo Road is located in Oriade LCDA, Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area. It is a dilapidated 7,650m single Carriageway with an average width of 10m and is presently being constructed into a Dual Carriageway.

“It will serve as a strategic by-pass for motorists from Kirikiri Area/Ajeromi Ifelodun to Ojo Local Government via Irede (Abule Oshun) Road. It is also parallel to the Lagos-Badagry Expressway from Mazamaza to Trade Fair.

“The road was phased into two (2). The awarded section from Irede Road to Oluti Bus Stop which is 4,000m, would be finished with reinforced concrete pavement in anticipation of the high axle load from articulated vehicles plying the route”.
