Ace journalist who double as Group Head  Current Affairs, Television Continental, TVC, Babajide Kolade Otitoloju, has made some revelations regarding the participation of the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan as an aspirant in the recently concluded APC presidential primary election, a move that was regarded as act of betrayal against the eventual winner of the contest, Bola Tinubu, whom is believed to be a benefactor of Lawan.

Tinubu, it could be said spareheaded emergence of Ahmad Lawan as the Senate President, in 2019, after his effort to install him in 2015 failed, as former Kwara State governor, Bukola Saraki, against party instruction became the Senate President.

He made this revelation on a TVC popular programme, Journalists Hangout.

Addressing the topic, Babajide said, “Bola Tinubu was visibly disappointed that Ahmad Lawan contested against him.” I would have also been disappointed. However, I am sure Bola Tinubu will understand that Ahmad Lawan did not wish to contest against him. Some people pushed Lawan all the way.

He continued, “The people who pushed Lawan bought the nomination form for him and funded his campaign.” That was the nature of this contest. Many of the aspirants were propelled by people from elsewhere. Some people were behind the scenes, pushing the aspirants to contest. Ahmad Lawan was one of those who had no intention of contesting, but he was pushed by some people at the last minute. Bola Tinubu was really disappointed, but he has to endure these things as a senior. They will work together as brothers in the future.
