Lupus: Kemi Afolabi thanks colleagues for raising money for her treatment

Popular Nollywood female actor, Kemi Afolabi has praised her colleagues, most in the Yoruba section of the industry for organising fund raising activities to raise money for her medical treatment.

She specifically named Mercy Aigbe, Funke Akindele-Bello, Toyin Abraham and some others who have launched a fundraiser to support her.

Kemi shocked the public when she announced few months ago that she was diagnosed with lupus. Afolabi had recently opened up about her ailment, stating that the doctor told her she had five years  to live.

In an Instagram post on Thursday, the actress appreciated her colleagues and friends for setting up a fundraiser towards her treatment.

She said: “I appreciate you all for putting this together just for me. God bless you and yours.”

According to her, the treatment, which will take place abroad, has been scheduled to begin in June 2022.

She added that she was aware of the bank account that had been opened towards the treatment.

“I, Kemi Afolabi, is aware of the account opened to support my medical treatment abroad which commences in June 2022,” she wrote, adding the account details.

She also urged fans to contribute to the GOFundMe account that has been created on her behalf.

Appreciating the contributors, she said, “God bless everyone who has contributed. Thank you all.”

Two months ago, the actress had raised the alarm concerning scammers taking advantage of her situation on Facebook.
