Moremi Ojudu Condoles With Oyo State Government Over Explosion, Pledges Relief for Affected Community

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (South-West) Ms. Moremi Ojudu has condoled with the Oyo State government over the recent explosion that rocked the Aseyi Estate in Bodija community in Ibadan, the capital of the state. While visiting the state, Ojudu met with the Oyo State  Deputy Governor Mr Adebayo Lawal and the Secretary to the State Government SSG, Mrs  Olubamiwo Adeosun at the Government House in Agodi where she sent her condolence in respect of those who lost their lives and their properties.

She also disclosed the plans of Mr President to support the state government in bringing succour to the affected families. In other to assess the level of damage, the SSA in the company of the Oyo State SSG took a tour of the scene of the incident. During the tour, Ojudu saw the level of destruction as she told Newsmen that; the consequences of such negligence have been devastating, resulting in the loss of precious lives and widespread property damage.

“It is a stark reminder of the dangers posed by improper handling and storage of hazardous materials, and it underscores the necessity of strict adherence to safety protocols in any industrial or mining activity.” She divulged.

She further disclosed that the Federal Government strongly condemn the storage of explosives meant for mining in residential areas. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the families who have lost their loved ones and those who have been affected by this tragic incident. We stand in solidarity with the people of Oyo State as they navigate this period of grief and begin the process of recovery.”

“As the President’s Special Assistant on Community Engagement (South West), I will be working closely with relevant authorities to offer support and assistance to the affected communities. It is crucial that we unite and extend a helping hand to those in need, and that we strive to prevent such tragic incidents from occurring in the future.” She added.

She also took a tour of the hospital where survivors are receiving treatment. She spoke to them and assured them of continued support from President Bola Tinubu on their road to recovery and also recouping what they had lost as a result of the devastating incident.
