Just as he recently said, the Senator representing Nasarawa West Senatorial Zone, Ahmed Wadada, has officially rejoined the All Progressive Congress (APC) from the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Wadada had been a member of APC before joining SDP to contest the Nasarawa West Senatorial Zone elections in 2023 which he won.

The Senator announced his return to APC in a letter in Keffi local government area of Nasarawa state and addressed to the APC Chairman, Tudun Kofar Ward, Keffi.

In the letter dated Tuesday and titled “Notification of my return to the All Progressive Congress”, Wadada stated that the decision was taken after careful consideration and the desire to contribute to the growth, development and success of the party.

Wadada had first indicated his intention to defect from SDP to APC during his recent visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Senator who is regarded as an ally and friend of the President had about a week after the visit resigned from SDP.

In a letter addressed to the chairman of the SDP in Tudun Kofa ward, Keffi LGA of Nasarawa, he cited internal crisis within the party as the reason for his action.

“I am writing to inform you of my decision to resign as a member of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), effective immediately,” the letter reads.

“This decision has not been taken lightly, but I feel compelled to do so due to the lingering internal crisis that has plagued our party for some time.

“As you are aware, these internal conflicts have led to serious divisions and litigations within the party.

“I appreciate the opportunities given to me while being a member of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), and I am grateful for the experiences and relationships built.

“However, I feel it is time for me to move on and explore new avenues.”

Wadada has also indicated his interest to contest for the Nasarawa governorship in the 2027 election.
