NTSSOSA Celebrates First-Ever Executive Handover Ceremony, Stresses Unity and Growth
On October 1st, 2024, the Navy Town Secondary School Old Students Association (NTSSOSA) marked a historic milestone with its first-ever official handover ceremony of executive leadership. The event saw the outgoing President, *Mr. Uyamasi Ikenna Godwin*, formally passing the baton to the newly elected President, *Mr. Ukhun Ehidiamen Anthony*, alongside other executive members.

This momentous occasion reflects the growth, unity, and progress of NTSSOSA, as members from various sets came together to celebrate the democratic process that brought in the new leadership.
The newly inaugurated executives include:

*Special Guest of Honour’s Statement:*
The Special Guest of Honour, *Commodore MM Braimoh* (represented by *Lt. Commander S.G. Adekunle*), delivered a significant address, emphasizing the need for unity within NTSSOSA. He recognized the association as the sole body representing alumni of the school and firmly stated that any attempts to form a splinter group or divide the association would not be tolerated. He urged members to resolve disputes through dialogue and democratic means, reiterating that the strength of the association lies in its ability to remain united.

– *Mr. Jimoh Olabode Oluwatayo*, a former teacher and Board of Trustee Member who commended the alumni association’s continued commitment to supporting the school.
In his acceptance speech, President Ukhun Ehidiamen Anthony expressed his gratitude to the members of the association for their trust and support. He emphasized the importance of unity, stating, “Our impact will be greater together. Remember, we are all one crew, and we shall sail to success.” He also pledged to uphold the values of NTSSOSA while focusing on key initiatives such as expanding scholarship programs and mentorship opportunities for members.
The event also featured a speech by Dr. Chibogu N. Okolugbo, Chairman of the NTSSOSA Electoral Committee, who provided an overview of the electoral process that led to the election of the new executives. He praised the association for its enthusiasm and participation during the election, highlighting the transparency and fairness of the process. He also commended the outgoing President, Mr. Uyamasi, for his leadership during a challenging period and expressed confidence in the abilities of the newly elected executives to steer the association to greater heights.
