In the spirit of celebrating 20 years since they passed out of secondary school, the old students of Ojota Secondary School Ojota (OSSO) Lagos who passed out of the learning institution in 2003 recently came together to hold an event in commemoration of 20 years since they graduated from the school. The event was held in Ogudu, Ojota. The 20-year anniversary, which could also be said to be a reunion, became an avenue for the old schoolmates to reunite and rejoice that they were all alive to witness such a great event.

Aside from the social part of the gathering, the event was an avenue for the old schoolmates to brainstorm and conclude on the need to make an impact on their alma mater, Ojota Secondary School, and society at large. Meanwhile, part of their resolution was to reach out to their old school as a way to commemorate the 20th anniversary of their departure from the school. “We have concluded plans to present a projector and other I.T. equipment to the school,” said the leader of the OSSO 2003 set, Mrs. Tosin Ogbeide.

Speaking further, Ogbeide said the gathering was a well-cherished one for every member of the school’s 2003 class who attended because it meant so many things to each person and that it brought a whole lot of great memories.

Also, the acting spokesperson for the old students, Friday Ekanem Akan, speaks about their goals. “Aside from the great moment we shared after coming together again after about two decades, we have decided not to limit ourselves to just that but to make sure we have a solid platform through which we are going to make interventions in our old school and in society at large in the form of humanitarian interventions. But since Charity began at home, we are starting with our school, and in the next couple of days, we will be presenting a projector and other I.T. equipment to the school to mark our 20th anniversary as the 2003 set. After that, we will decide what is next.”.
