Oladega Ibrahim congratulates Opeifa, Meranda over appointments
Prince Oladega Ibrahim, an ex-aide of former Speaker House of Representatives, Gbajabiamila, has reached out with congratulatory messages to former Lagos State Transport Commissioner, Dr. Kayode Opeifa, who has just been appointed as the Managing Director of the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC). In the same vein, Oladega felicitated with a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Apapa 1, Honorable Mojisola Lasbat Meranda, who has just become the speaker of the lawmaking chamber. While Dr. Opeifa was on Tuesday, 21 January, 2025, appointed the MD of NRC by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Rt. Hon Mojisola Meranda was recently sworn in as the first female Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
As Oladega described the appointment of Opeifa as a round peg in a befitting hole, he commended President Tinubu for making the ex-Commissioner a member of his high-flying team.
“We are very sure that Mr. President has placed the round peg in the round hole, because with the vast experience and knowledge Dr. Opeifa possesses in that sector, one can only be sure the President is committed to making things work and taking the country to enviable heights,” says Oladega.
“Dr. Kayode Opeifa, an illustrious son of Lagos, has given a commendable account of himself in that sector before while he was Transport Commissioner in Lagos State, and we have utmost confidence in his ability to do even more at his new assignment at the federal level.”. Oladega submitted.
In the same vein, however, the Agboyi Prince, Oladega, commended the elevation of Mojisola Meranda to the position of the Speaker of the Lagos House of Assembly, describing it as one that will bear good fruits for all and sundry in the state, more so that she would be the first female to occupy the exalted office.
“It is a delight to identify and felicitate Madam Speaker, because as one of the few women in a male-populated lawmaking chamber, Mrs. Meranda’s role as Speaker is both a personal milestone and a symbolic victory for women in Nigerian politics. We are certain her leadership is going to be inspiring and excellent due to what she stands for, as part of her vision for Lagos State had always been inclusivity, progress, and empowerment. Also, ensuring that every citizen, regardless of gender, has a voice in shaping the state’s future”. Oladega said.
